Mon De Rijck
Mon De Rijck, Carl's father · Sculptor · co-creator of the Truc-Troc
Mon De Rijck, a sculptor, imagined with painter Charline Mahy the very first Truc-Troc, presented as a world first at Château Malou in 1975. Carl was born De Rijck; followed by the media from his first public actions, he chose a name that tells his origins: De Moncharline, the contraction of his dad's first name, Mon, and his mum's, Charline - literally, Carl comes "from Mum and Dad". "I owe them everything: my father passed on his creativity, my mother the taste for culture," he sums up. The Truc-Troc, relaunched at Bozar from 2004, extends the idea his parents imagined in 1975.
