Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, 1975-1977: at the heart of the castle, the artwork lending gallery, which Mon De Rijck kept in the spotlight through headline-making events, from the first Truc-Troc as a "world first" and the art safari turning the castle into a jungle to Operation 500-5000, then to the Miroir Labyrinthe exhibition in 1977.

1976 - "Artistic Safari" at Château Malou
To put the lending gallery in the spotlight, Mon De Rijck turned the castle into a jungle: a terracotta colonial helmet, lianas, animals from the Tervuren Museum and an "art hunt". All the Art Safari press, from the 1976 clipping to The Bulletin's "Cover Story".

1975-1976 - Operation 500-5000
Among the actions run from Château Malou, the artwork lending gallery launched "Operation 500-5000": an exhibition-event bringing together works priced between 500 and 5,000 Belgian francs, to prove that buying a work of art was within everyone's reach.

1977 - Mon De Rijck inside his "Miroir Labyrinthe" exhibition at Château Malou, among mirrors and hanging paintings
In 1977, Mon De Rijck presented an exhibition of works at Château Malou conceived as a pathway: "Miroir Labyrinthe". Mirrors and hanging paintings punctuated the installation, extending the playful experiments run from the artwork lending gallery and inviting visitors to lose themselves and be reflected in a maze of images.
