Among the actions run from Château Malou, the artwork lending gallery launched "Operation 500-5000": an exhibition-event bringing together works priced between 500 and 5,000 Belgian francs, to prove that buying a work of art was within everyone's reach.

Like the Truc-Troc, the operation belonged to the democratic patronage approach championed by Mon De Rijck and Charline Mahy: taking art out of speculative circuits and placing it in everyday life.

In February 1976, the press announced that Operation 500-5000 was leaving Château Malou for Amsterdam, then probably Paris: the Brussels initiative was going abroad.
