Le Soir, December 1976, Culture section: "Le safari artistique du château Malou", by D. G. Photo caption: "Artworks in a makeshift jungle".

In its Culture section, Le Soir presents the "artistic safari" devised by the Château Malou artwork lending gallery: the visitor becomes an "art hunter", greeted by a few African animals borrowed from the Tervuren Museum, a mini-jungle and a soundscape of roaring beasts and chirping birds. The article lists some eight hundred works, none exceeding 7,000 francs "according to the gallery's democratic principle", and names Christian Rolet, César Bailleux (sculpted forms), Erik Leloup (mini-sculpture), Vincent Strebelle (jewel bicycles), gouaches and watercolours by Luc Mondry and Arthur Grosemans, engravings and drawings by Roland Delcol, drawings and silkscreens by Lionel Vinche. Address and opening hours in a footnote: Château Malou, 45 chaussée de Stockel, 2 to 7 pm, until 6 January.

The artistic safari of Château Malou Since it is said that people get bored at art exhibitions, the Château Malou artwork lending gallery (1) has just devised a hanging formula that some will find original: an artistic safari. Here you are, turned into an art hunter who will have no trouble flushing out your quarry, since the works are traditionally hung on the wall or imprisoned in showcases. But a few African animals borrowed from the Tervuren Museum and a mini-jungle at the entrance, dispensing - by way of recordings - the roaring of wild beasts and the chirping of birds, are sure to put you in the mood... Some eight hundred works, we were saying, none exceeding the price of 7,000 francs, according to the gallery's democratic principle. Among the familiar names of a young and "rising" generation of artists, many approaches, sometimes of quality, to be discovered. The works of Christian Rolet, César Bailleux (sculpted forms), Erik Leloup (mini-sculpture), Vincent Strebelle (jewel bicycles), the gouaches and watercolours of Luc Mondry and Arthur Grosemans, the engravings and drawings of Roland Delcol, the drawings and silkscreens of Lionel Vinche, to name but a few, provide the best possible setting for this profusion of works. A "multi-art" hanging that has the merit of maintaining a certain quality... D. G. (1) Château Malou, 45, chaussée de Stockel, from 2 to 7 pm. Until 6 January.
