New collection of works (800) at the Woluwé-Saint-Lambert art lending gallery From 27 February to 21 March, the Woluwe-Saint-Lambert art lending gallery will present a brand-new collection of works of art: eight hundred in total. The Art Lending Gallery, which has existed for three years, offers paintings and sculptures to the public. The gallery's organisers, Mr Pierre Levie, chairman, and Mr De Rijck, director, want to widen the public's choice and stimulate creation among the associated artists. All the works have also been renewed: the gallery returned every canvas and sculpture to the artists, asking them to propose five new creations. Eight hundred works were selected. Before being made available for rental, the canvases and sculptures will be shown to the public from 27 February to 21 March. This new collection can be seen every day from 2 to 7 pm at château Malou, 45, chaussée de Stockel, in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert.

    Context note

Context note - Clipping with no identified newspaper title or byline. The date (February 1976) is established by cross-reference: the announced exhibition (800 works, château Malou, 27 February to 21 March) is exactly the one the article "La galerie de prêt à neuf : trois ans, ça suffit !" dates to 1976. It is kept with the Truc-Troc press because it documents the Château Malou artwork lending gallery, the matrix of the Truc-troc and of the 500-5000 operation, initiatives of democratic patronage carried by Mon De Rijck and Charline Mahy.
