Impro, a lot, passionately... madly
A feature on ten years of improvisation in Brussels: from the meeting with the Canadian founders to the first matches at the Halles de Schaerbeek, then the annual championship set up by Alain Stevens and Jonathan Fox, played every Sunday in spring at the Mirano, in Saint-Josse. The article describes how a match unfolds, the rise of actors such as Eric De Staercke and Bernard Cogniaux, Frank Baal's classes at the Lycée Jacqmain, and the reports published in Le Soir through Jean Pochet. The Mirano Continental, run by Jean-Pierre Mels, hosted these matches at the time when Carl De Moncharline was producing its nights.
Context note
Press cutting with no identified newspaper title, dated 1992 by the archive. The article focuses on the organiser of the nights, the Belgian improvisation league: neither the Mirano nor its team is named, but the matches did take place in the venue, then run by Jean-Pierre Mels, at the time when Carl De Moncharline worked at KCC and then at the Mirano.
