1975 - "Have fun at the Truc-Troc": an original work of art for your "junk"

A June 1975 clipping (unreferenced newspaper): "In these rotten times, who knows what to invent to keep business going. For several months now, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert has launched the good idea of renting out works of art." The article first recalls the lending gallery's principle: for a few hundred francs, anyone can hang an original print, a lithograph or even an oil painting at home, the rent being deducted from the price if the work is bought.

"Well, here is something else. It's the 'Truc-Troc'. Instructions: go to your attic and sort out the junk you want to get rid of. Then head to Château Malou, chaussée de Stockel, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert. Pick a graphic work that takes your fancy. This is where the sport begins: negotiate exchanging your junk for the lithograph or drypoint of your choice."

The illustration caption sums up the formula: "An original work of art for your 'junk'." Announced dates: "Opening of hostilities: 14 June. Close of the hunting season: 30 August." And the last word: "One more word, or rather two: good luck!"
