Sculptures and works

Gouaches and engravings of the 1970s

Before devoting himself to sculpture, Mon De Rijck first worked on paper. In the 1970s, he painted in gouache: compositions in bold colours, with geometric shapes set against dark backgrounds.

In the same years he also made engravings: the family archives hold in particular "La peur de Prate devant la mort" (1975). This period, from drawing to print, predates his sculptural work and bears witness to a complete artistic journey, from paper to volume.
