The Truc-Troc, 1975-1976: art for barter

Mon De Rijck · Mon De Rijck, Carl's father

Communication: the street as a poster

The Truc-Troc was not announced by a poster campaign: promotion happened in the street and in the newspapers. A car covered with "le Truc-Troc" signs and topped by a sculpture drove around and parked in front of Château Malou; a trailer loaded with assorted objects showed, literally, what could be offered in exchange.

The same painted signs marked out the park and pointed to the works displayed outdoors. The rest of the communication went through the press, which relayed the call from 14 June to 30 August 1975, then from 7 to 27 October 1976: see the "Press" tab.

The original poster of the 7 to 27 October 1975 edition is kept in the archives: offset-printed, it announces the Truc-Troc at Château Malou, 45 chaussée de Stockel in Brussels, under the auspices of the Commission française de la culture de l'agglomération de Bruxelles, with the kind participation of Papiers peints URI. Two invitations, in red floral and blue floral versions, complete the set. The flyers and posters of the editions organised by Carl De Moncharline at BOZAR (2004-2006) are presented in his own section.
