The Sombreffe roller parade: a total success

SOMBREFFE The Sombreffe roller parade: a total success Last Saturday, May 22, the first roller parade organized on the initiative of the Sombreffe Children's Municipal Council was a resounding success. The numerous participants gathered, rollers on their feet, at 2 PM at the Ligny Municipal Center, rue du Pirou, to complete a circuit of approximately four kilometers. Even if the sun wasn't shining, for the occasion, as much as the young organizers had hoped, good humor and laughter were present at this activity. For the record, it was on May 17, 2004, that the first Children's Municipal Council was established in Sombreffe. Ten fourth and fifth-grade primary school students from the entity's schools, all networks combined, were elected as “Children's Municipal Councilors” to represent all the children of the commune. The beginning of the new year was largely dedicated to the design and realization of this ambitious project, which is the organization of a roller parade in the entity... To best prepare for this event, a committee, composed of a few children, met several times, progressing step by step in a reflection fueled by the experiences and opinions of various resource persons. After considerable work, an investment from each of the commissioners and the many people who collaborated on this ambitious project, you were able to appreciate all the efforts that were put in place to make this afternoon a total success... Indeed, nothing had been left to chance, whether it was safety advice, supplies and refreshments, the presence of firefighters, registration facilities... Everything contributed to making this day an experience to be repeated in the future! So, we sincerely hope, see you next year for the second edition of the Sombreffe roller parade and for other equally original and entertaining initiatives organized on the initiative of this dynamic Children's Municipal Council.
