    Prince's private show

Nieuwe Gids, 6 September 1993: “Privéshow van Prince” (Prince's private show). The photo shows Prince on stage, captioned “Prince van de nacht” (Prince of the night) and credited Goedefroit Music.

After his concert in Ghent, Prince drove on to Brussels in the night of Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 September 1993 and, instead of turning in, headed for the Mirano disco on the Leuvensesteenweg: the street was packed with police and almost completely sealed off, with hundreds waiting at the door, but only guests and well-off fans got in. Shortly after five, the 35-year-old megastar finally appeared; after twice fifteen minutes he smashed his guitar on the floor, the signal for The New Power Generation to knock over instruments and equipment. “A blink of the eyes. It was over.”
