    Sliding sports aren't really taking off in Liège The attendance was rather sparse last Saturday at the Halles des Foires de Coronmeuse, where one of the selection sessions for the next world skateboard championship, to be held in October in Rotterdam, was nevertheless taking place. Despite the undeniably spectacular aspect of the competition, the Liège public remained very discreet in halls that had been transformed into a skate park for the occasion. This can also be seen as an illustration of the little attention that skateboarding seems to generate in the Liège region, where practitioners have been demanding a truly adapted venue for their sport for years. In the same vein, it can also be noted that Liège no longer features among the stopover cities of the « Belgium Rollers ». In short, sports classically referred to as « sliding sports » are not very popular in the Liège region.
