Brussels Fashion Days: Guillaume Joveneau, the man behind the scenes The Brussels Fashion Days ended this Sunday, with the show of several Belgian fashion schools, which mobilised more than 80 models. A fine piece of stage design work, which Guillaume Joveneau explains to us in detail. Who is he? Artistic director and show producer for 15 years, he also works for Natan, the unmissable charity show for Les Petits Riens, corporate events, and various projects abroad. What did his job consist of? Taking part in the casting and the choice of the garments that would be shown, staging the segments of each collection, from the choreography to the music through to the lighting, sending the models out onto the catwalk. The Brussels Fashion Days in figures: 2 months of preparation, between the selection of the designers and their pieces in collaboration with ELLE Belgique, and the organisation of the shows themselves; more than 100 models; 16 stylists; 25 students from fashion training programmes in Belgium; 9000 visitors across all the events combined (shows, exhibitions...). G.J.: "During the Brussels Fashion Days, the shows were offered free of charge to the designers, who did not have to pay a single cent to have the opportunity to present their collection to the general public. Most of them would not have the means to put on a show with their own funds. I was keen to take part in this project, because even though fashion events already exist in Belgium, there is still room to develop the visibility of the sector."
