Fiesta latina CHÂTELAIN GOES LATINO Have your holidays left you with a feeling of not having enough or won't you even be getting away this summer? There's nothing like a little fiesta latina to shake off any signs of gloom. The Châtelain Kastelein district is not just about "see-and-be-seen" terraces and restaurants, or even a weekly market where yuppies and housewives alike vaporously bustle their way through, some at the Pagnol, glass of pastis in hand (and if possible, a convertible double-parked just in front), others with bunches of leeks levitating from their wicker shopping baskets. No, there's more to it than that... There are lots of other surprises in store, particularly this Saturday 23rd August, as from midday. Latin America will be invading the place du Châtelain/Kasteleinsplein and the rue du Bailli/Baljuwstraat, unleashing a flood of bewitching music throughout the district. Those who have rhythm to spare are invited to take part in a salsa competition; the less bold can stand back and admire their prowess or enjoy the concerts that are on offer. No efforts are being spared to make this a success: a podium, paper lanterns and specialities with a distinctly southern flavour.
