Festivities for the tenth anniversary of King Albert II's reign

In addition to the traditional National Day on July 21, festivities celebrating the ten-year reign of Sovereigns Albert and Paola will be added this year. On July 20 and 21, Brussels will welcome numerous artists in prestigious venues for a grand popular festival showcasing culture. Among all the scheduled events, highlights include the grand concert organized at Place Poelaert (on July 21 from 7:45 pm) on a vast stage erected in front of the Law Courts, featuring performances by Toots Thielemans, Philippe Lafontaine, Zap Mama, Jean-Louis Daulne, Ozark Henry, Khadja Nin, and Annie Cordy, among others. Meanwhile, the Egmont Palace will open its Renaissance courtyard for a classical concert – on July 20 from 11 am to 2 pm –, and for three children's shows, including Christian Merveille's "Si c'est comme ça", on July 21 from 3 pm to 6 pm. At the former Albert Barracks, Rue des Petits Carmes next to the Sablon, a huge "Roller Street Park" with tracks, ramps, and obstacles awaits young people on July 20 and 21 from 3 pm to 8 pm. Finally, a grand ball will be held on July 20 from 6:30 pm on Place du Jeu de Balle, where the public will find Grand Jojo as well as three parades (bicycle, motorcycle, roller skate) crossing the city.
