When you want to be an alternative to mobility problems in the city, not participating in a week like Mobility Week makes no sense. That is why, this Friday, September 20, the "Roller Parade" is back on track for an exceptional outing. An opportunity, once again, to party, continues Carl De Moncharline, but also to raise the issue of the lack of city infrastructure for inline skating as well as for skateboarding or cycling. As with the summer editions, the meeting point is set at Place Poelaert at 9 p.m. For an unchanged route that will take the skaters through the Louise Avenue tunnels towards the Woods, Roosevelt Avenue, and the Hippodrome. Then, a U-turn towards Place Stéphanie (where refreshments are planned), Rue de la Régence, and Rue Royale to reach the Botanique. From there, the skaters, via the central boulevards, will go to the Bourse to finish in free-wheeling at Saint-Géry. Note that the "little gang" (there were 4,500 during the last ride in August) will still be supervised by the rollercops brigade, made up of specially equipped police officers. We do not plan to stop there, Carl De Moncharline further explains. Since four other appointments have already been set in agreement with the City of Brussels. For Halloween, November 1st, a torchlight descent, December 27th, for Valentine's Day, February 14th, and Carnival, Friday March 7th. Negotiations are underway for a fifth date, at Easter. Finally, remember that the "Roller Parade", for which participation is free, remains dependent on the weather: In case of rain, it will be postponed to the following Friday.
