PLACE NET The skaters of Brussels Rollers are back at it... on a bigger scale! The Brussels event of summer 2002 (between 16,000 and 20,000 participants) has been extended this year to six other cities (Liège, Namur, Mons, Hasselt, Ghent and Coxyde) and is now called the Belgium Rollers Summer Tour. In Brussels, every Friday evening, the skaters set off from the Bois de La Cambre. At the end of the 2002 season, to build on their momentum, roller-skating fans launched the website continue-brusselsrollers, which quickly became rouliroula.com, with the aim of “providing information about roller-skating in Belgium, key events, vocabulary, Roller Anatomy, photos, etc.” They learned that the future of their favourite event was secured. We read on the site that among the upcoming events, a family Roller Parade will be organised on Sunday 20 July on the occasion of the ten-year reign of King Albert II, starting from the Parc du Cinquantenaire, with the rue de la Loi as a launch pad. Proving that it's not just about bikes... WEB > www.rouliroula.com
