First Roller Parade attracts seventy sports enthusiasts KORTRIJK – Around seventy sports enthusiasts participated in the first Roller Parade through Kortrijk. The roller skaters' tour was an initiative of the Kortrijk club Kangarooz in collaboration with the province. "With this parade, we want to promote our sport," says Lode Thijs from Kangarooz. "Skating or rollerblading was a hype in the nineties, but it is gradually making a comeback. In France and Germany, the number of roller skaters is steadily growing. We also want to make our club known and expand it. It is the first such event in the region. We are very satisfied with the turnout," said Lode Thijs. The skaters could choose between four different routes with the Graanmarkt in Kortrijk as the starting point and De Gavers in Harelbeke as the endpoint. (DDW. Photo Anckaert)
