    Celebración al servicio de una causa

    Después del Mirano, Jean-Pierre Mels se definió como un «metteur en fête»: asesor estratégico de comunicaciones, coordinador de eventos públicos, presidente de la asociación sin ánimo de lucro Absolument de 2003 a 2013. Creó la primera «Nuit sans accident» con los Responsible Young Drivers, que se extendió por veinticinco clubes de Bélgica; la inauguración de la Fête de la Musique en la Place des Palais, la plaza convertida en una pista de baile gigante frente al Palacio Real; y cofundó Bruxelles Champêtre en 2002, un evento de concienciación ecológica en el corazón de la ciudad.

    También coordinó los mercados ecológicos de la Fête de l'Europe, la Fête du Vélo (Dring Dring), la Fête du Port de Bruxelles y la Fête de l'environnement, y cofundó los puestos de comida de Mobilissimo, el encuentro de movilidad sostenible.

    On Bruxelles Champêtre he was not alone: his partner on the event was Thierry Vandebroek, also a former KCC man, the company where Carl De Moncharline worked. It is a small world, and the paths cross: the same production school, moving from nightlife to public space.
