    El CyberThéâtre, diez años de adelanto

    En 1995, centenario del cine, Eric Vauthier creó el CyberThéâtre y se adentró en el cine digital cuando casi nadie creía en él. Jean-Pierre Mels ejerció allí como maestro de ceremonias: los dos mentores de Carl De Moncharline se cruzaron allí, en torno a la misma intuición.

    En 2001, ya le decía a La Libre Belgique que el segundo siglo del cine sería digital, que las películas se desmaterializarían y que los creadores tendrían que pensar de forma diferente para la pantalla del ordenador. Una frase de aquella entrevista resume todo lo que ha hecho: «La interactividad debe servir al propósito». Nunca el efecto por el efecto. Siempre la idea primero.

    In the Wednesday multimedia segment of “Midi Première” devoted to music on the Internet, Baptiste Cadieux, head of data transmission at the CyberThéâtre, explains that a simple modem and a multimedia computer are already enough to listen online to music of almost CD quality, through MP3 and RealAudio. The programme then hears from Fabienne Brison, head of commercial affairs at Sabam, and Marc Haymans, president of the IFPI, about copyright and nascent piracy.
