1976 - The Bulletin: «Safari de arte en los suburbios» (artículo interior)
On 24 December 1976, the English-language magazine The Bulletin devoted its "Cover Story" to the Art Safari: "Art Safari in the Suburbs", by Harold Bishop. Mon De Rijck made the cover (the safari poster) and posed in front of the Château Malou in a collage specially made for the exhibition.
The article describes the crossing of the recreated jungle - "lianas swish your face, the air is alive with animal and bird calls" - then the room where more than one hundred contemporary painters and sculptors show their works, "the prey of the hunt", on sale for 700 to 7,000 BF. Harold Bishop introduces Mon De Rijck, "bearded and effervescent", a 33-year-old sculptor and director of the Art Loan Gallery, and recalls the Truc-Troc 500-5,000 and the Labyrinth of Mirrors.
The article also surveys the Château Malou's cultural activities - the Art Bus, cinema, theatre with Peter Brook's Timon d'Athènes co-produced with the Atelier Théâtral of Louvain-la-Neuve - and announces that the Art Safari exhibition will travel to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam the following year. Open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday afternoons until 6 January.
