INTERVIEW For the last roller parade, scheduled for last Friday, the Brussels sky proved much less lenient than during the rest of the summer. For once, everything had to be canceled. But it took more than that to dampen the spirits of its organizer, the omnipresent Carl de Moncharline. How do you assess this second experience in Brussels? Very good, largely thanks to the ideal weather conditions we experienced during the months of July and August. In fact, we line-skated almost continuously. The emotion might not be quite the same as last year since that was a first. What I am also pleased about is the collaboration with the police. I think this type of operation helps strengthen respect toward them. Are you up for a new edition, and what areas are you looking to improve? We want to renew the roller parade. I think it is a success to the extent that it helps make Brussels a dynamic city, much like operations such as the cows or Bruxelles-les-Bains. However, I would like the next edition to have fewer injuries. It remains dangerous. As for the rest, by popular demand, we would like to establish an initiation route for families on Sunday mornings. Finally, the other point concerns the route, often considered physically demanding, especially when heading back up toward the Bois de la Cambre. It could evolve •
