NEWS The map of Brussels sandpits and slides In summer, playgrounds are inevitably stormed by "little monsters" on holiday. To make life easier for them, and for their parents, a map of playgrounds in the Brussels Region has just been published. Where are they located? For which age group are they recommended? Where are the sandpits, roller tracks or multi-sports grounds located? The tool is packed with information so that every child can choose their ideal play area. Killing two birds with one stone: this map will also allow the authorities to improve the distribution of play areas in Brussels based on population density. Tests conducted by the intercommunal laboratory (LICB) in the capital's swimming pools are fairly conclusive. Regarding the microbiological quality of the water, 93.9% of the samples meet legal standards. Furthermore, 77.8% of the samples respect the maximum threshold for chloramines, those molecules that sting swimmers' eyes. However, smaller pools exceed these limits more frequently. Following the regional decree setting out the operating conditions for swimming pools, the LICB also tested air quality this year. Out of 28 samples, 4 contained too much chloramines.
