120 participants at the first Skater Day in Eupen

The first ever Skater Day in Eupen, "and an immediate complete success," celebrated Tourist Info and Sport für Alle. The organizers had hoped for 50 to 60 participants. There were around 120. All over the city center, children, teenagers, and even some adults were out on rollerblades. The area between Schulstraße, Klötzerbahn, and St. Nicholas Church was completely reserved for them. Anyone who had expected skaters in a pack and dramatic races seemed disappointed to see only individual skaters on the track. Each participant started for themselves, only having to compete for points in speed and skill on the individual courses. More on this in our tomorrow's issue.
