Paris was the first European city where a Friday Night Skate was organized: a massive Friday evening skate ride in which everyone can participate. Dozens of European cities have since adopted the idea, including Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam, and also Brussels. For us, the skate summer lasts from June 4 to September 25. Belgium Rollers then organizes a nightskate every Friday evening in Brussels and expects, just like last year, up to ten thousand participants per evening. In July and August, six more cities join Brussels. Together they form the Summer Tour, which visits a different city every evening (except on Tuesday). On Monday, that's Hasselt, on Wednesday Ghent, on Thursday Namur, on Friday thus Brussels, on Saturday Mons, and on Sunday Ostend, and from August, Koksijde. For true enthusiasts, the Dutch Skate-A-Round organizes skating holidays to destinations including London, New York, and Paris (www.skate-a-round.com).
