Friday evening, the first roller parade of the summer season went through the streets of Brussels. Until September 24, roller skaters can complete a 20-kilometer route through the city every Friday evening. Mayor Freddy Tielemans gave the starting signal. In total, about 500 roller skaters showed up. The procession started from Poelaertplein, went along Louizalaan and Ter Kamerenbos back to the starting point. There, the parade was stopped due to the rain. Police officers on roller skates ensured safety. Last year, a total of 40,000 people participated in the summer Roller Parades.
