100,000 participants in "Belgium Rollers" parades last summer

(BELGA) = Around 100,000 inline skaters and roller skaters took part last summer in about fifty parades in seven cities organized by "Belgium Rollers". This was reported by the man behind the event, Carl De Moncharline (his real name is De Rijck). There were parades in Brussels, Namur, Hasselt, Koksijde, Mons, Liège, and Ghent. The largest parade, in Brussels, attracted 5,000 participants, the smallest (in Ghent) around 200. During each parade, around 5 to 20 people were slightly injured and one to three participants had to be taken to hospital with various bruises and fractures. In Brussels, there was a peak of ten participants taken to hospital. De Moncharline hopes for better police support in some cities during the next series of parades.
