Joost de Lijser (sometimes spelled de Lyser) is a Belgian pioneer of the electronic music scene. He began DJing in 1987 at just 16 years old, exploring the first acid, house and techno sounds arriving in Belgium. He quickly joined the Network DJ team in Brussels, an influential collective in the spread of electronic music in Belgium. Later, he founded the Surreal Sound Records label, consolidating his role not only as a DJ but also as a player in music production. His opening set for Carl Craig at Who's Who's Land in September 1997 reflects his established status on the Brussels scene at that time.
