Joan Ribas, an Ibicenco DJ born in 1963, began working as a DJ at Pacha Ibiza at age 17 — not even old enough to legally enter the club. He remained a resident for nearly 20 years, sharing the booth with DJ Pippi and César de Melero, forming the core of residents who shaped Pacha's sound in the 1980s and 1990s. On Friday 6 November 1998 he appears on the Pacha Ibiza line-up at Who's Who's Land in Brussels, billed simply as « Joan [resident Pacha Ibiza] ». He still lives in Ibiza year-round, holds a residency at Pacha Hotel Ibiza, plays at Café del Mar in summer and continues to DJ regularly.
