The organisers' definition of the operation is enough in itself to express their intention. We live in a capital where, unfortunately, everyone goes about their business without worrying about their neighbour. Immeubles en fête is therefore the chance to reconnect with the festive spirit that once animated neighbourhoods. "It is an appointment that concerns everyone (96% of the population lives in an urban area)," the organisers continue. "It is also a response to the loneliness and isolation that can trigger thousands of situations of mutual help and neighbourly solidarity. One of the key challenges of our society is to build the city of tomorrow, more human and more convivial. To do so, it is now necessary to rethink ordinary life relations, interactions between individuals, in new forms of collective action." Thanks to Immeubles en fête, the people of Brussels will therefore have an excellent pretext to celebrate, without moderation. Moreover, Beaujolais wines have decided to join the operation. All Brussels residents who have pinned the Immeubles en fête poster to their window may receive a visit from a van in the colours of Beaujolais wines, which will criss-cross the streets to offer the happy revellers a few welcome bottles to round off the party. "Immeubles en Fête is also, why not, the chance to ask ourselves together, in our building, our estate or our neighbourhood, how to make things move concretely in order to improve our everyday living environment for the long term."
