Belgium rollers summer tour 2004 in Namur Two routes will be offered throughout the holidays NAMUR ∇ Every Thursday during the summer, roller skating enthusiasts from Namur will be served. Indeed, the Belgium Rollers Summer Tour will once again pass through Namur. The city is obviously fully associated with this event. It is possible for you to participate in these rides on July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, as well as August 5, 13, 20 and 27. Arrival and departure will be from the town hall, rue de Fer. The gathering is scheduled for 7 PM and the departure at 8 PM. The ride lasting approximately three hours, the return is scheduled for 11 PM. Note that the Town Hall car park will be accessible and free from 6 PM to 1 AM. Regarding the novelties for this 2004 edition, let's point out: ► At 6 PM, possibility of initiation for 1 hour to roller skating under the patio of the Town Hall. ► Thanks to the support of 3M Healthcare, the first aid staff is expanding, to treat small injuries. Safety measures The wearing of all protections is required for children: wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, reflective gear, and helmets. Adults are strongly advised to equip themselves with reflective gear. The organizers also specify that if weather conditions are bad, the day's outing will be automatically canceled. Two routes will be offered, the first, inter-urban of 21.5 km, and the second, urban of 19 km. For the record, it was in Huy, Belgium, that the roller skate was invented nearly 200 years ago! For the occasion, the city of Huy will organize, during the months of June, July and August, various festivities: exhibitions, sound and light shows, street performances, etc. The launch of the festivities took place on Friday, June 19, in partnership with the Belgium Roller. Two other exceptional dates are already planned: August 7, the sound and light show with numerous participating roller-skating actors, and September 25, the closing of the 2004 season. Finally, let's note that the Belgium Roller Summer Tour is organized in 8 different cities throughout the summer. Hasselt, on Monday; Ghent, on Wednesday; Namur, of course, on Thursday; Brussels, on Friday; Mons, on Saturday; and Ostend (July) and Koksijde (August), on Sunday.
