1975 - « Château Malou: een voorwerp ruilen voor een schilderij »
In June 1975, an unreferenced newspaper devoted a small illustrated item to the nascent Truc-Troc: "If you give up... for lack of means, on acquiring a work of modern painting, try calling in at the Truc-Troc, which has just opened at Château Malou in Woluwe and will run for several weeks."
The principle is summed up in one sentence: "Each of them is ready to exchange a painting, not for cash or banknotes, but for an object the collector no longer likes and which... the artist would like. In short, you don't buy, you barter."
The article gives the address and duration of the event: "Château Malou, 45 chaussée de Stockel, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert. Until 30 August."
