Na een jaar aan de Antwerpse Academie, gevolgd door een driejarige opleiding modeontwerp aan het Institut Saint-Luc in Brussel en twee jaar aan de Nebeling Academie in Brussel, werd Joan De Rijck door verschillende Belgische bedrijven aangenomen als stylist: trendonderzoek, modelontwerp, kleuronderzoek en productietoezicht. In 1998 won ze de publieksprijs van de ModoBruxellae stylistentrack. Ze ontwikkelde haar eigen label «joan de rijk», een collectie gebreide accessoires voor dames, heren en kinderen. In 2015 opende ze samen met haar broer Carl De Moncharline Les Brusseloises, een boetiek gewijd aan Belgisch design, in de Zavelwijk van Brussel.

Kinderen
Joan De Rijck's children's collection brings together her creations for the youngest: dresses, tunics, coats, hat-scarves and party pieces, cut in soft fabrics and bright prints.
